Own your email dammit

So i’m launching this new service.
I’m calling it — Inbox Zero in an Hour (TM).
Here’s roughly how it works.
- Spend the first 55 minutes explaining why your email system (or lack thereof) is terrible.
- Spend the last 5 minutes archiving all your email.
2a. If you happen to not be on gmail, then this time is spent setting up forwarding and getting you a gmail account.
Let me know if you’re interested in being on the ground floor as a lead customer and helping me iterate on this concept.
Ok… well not quite. But kinda. I actually DO want to help my friends and people i love slay their email.
Managing email is a competency. No one should ever feel bad if their email is out of control, its horrendously imperfect. Email is a system that has undergone only a handful of revolutions in the past 20 years as far as i can tell. One thanks to gmail and its archive / search everything abilities. The second thanks to Mailbox (RIP thanks for nothing Dropbox) and its snoozing. I’m sure there are future revolutions to come… i for one would like to see one that essentially forced you to treat email like mail. You know, the kind you check ONCE a day (or less), pitch all the spam in the recycle bin, file a couple bills or important notes, and then dig in to that great new toy that arrived (ie a youtube video one of your best buds sent you).
Anyways, its probably gonna be around for a while still, so why not get good at it?
There are just too many victims of the churn, poor management, increased cognitive load, and it drives me crazy seeing a 30,535 badge on someone’s Mail icon. So maybe i’m really just doing this for me afterall. But how will i know if you don’t let me iterate on this concept!
That is all.
